Conflict of Interest Policy

Overview

Gnoscience Publishing House is committed to maintaining the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and ethical publishing. Authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence, or reasonably appear to influence, the research, peer-review process, or editorial decisions.

Disclosure of a conflict of interest does not necessarily prevent publication or participation in the editorial process. However, all potential conflicts must be declared so they can be managed appropriately.

Author Responsibilities

Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest at the time of manuscript submission.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Employment or consultancy
  • Research funding or grants
  • Honoraria or speaker fees
  • Stock ownership or financial investments
  • Patents or patent applications
  • Personal or professional relationships
  • Institutional affiliations that may influence the research

If no conflicts exist, authors should include the following statement:

“The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.”

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers must disclose any conflict of interest before accepting a manuscript for review.

Reviewers should decline the review if they:

  • Have collaborated with the authors recently.
  • Work at the same institution as the authors.
  • Have financial or personal interests related to the manuscript.
  • Believe they cannot provide an objective and unbiased review.

All manuscripts and review materials must remain confidential.

Editor Responsibilities

Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts when a conflict of interest exists.

Examples include:

  • Personal relationships with the authors.
  • Current or recent research collaborations.
  • Financial interests related to the manuscript.
  • Institutional conflicts.

In such cases, another qualified editor will be assigned to oversee the editorial process.

Editorial Board Members

Editorial Board Members are expected to maintain the highest standards of editorial independence and disclose any conflicts of interest that could influence editorial decisions.

Board members must not use confidential information obtained during the editorial process for personal or professional gain.

Management of Conflicts

When a conflict of interest is identified, Gnoscience Publishing House may:

  • Request additional disclosures.
  • Assign a different reviewer or editor.
  • Require correction of disclosure statements.
  • Reject or withdraw manuscripts where undisclosed conflicts have compromised the integrity of the publication process.

Transparency

Conflict of interest statements provided by authors will be published within the article whenever applicable.

Gnoscience Publishing House encourages full transparency to maintain trust in scholarly publishing.
