Corrections, Retractions & Expressions of Concern Policy

Overview

Gnoscience Publishing House is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. When significant errors, ethical concerns, or research misconduct are identified in published articles, appropriate actions will be taken in accordance with accepted publishing best practices.

Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, the journal may publish a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction.

Corrections

A correction may be published when an article contains errors that do not invalidate the scientific findings but require clarification or amendment.

Examples include:

  • Typographical or formatting errors
  • Incorrect author affiliations
  • Errors in figures or tables
  • Minor data inaccuracies
  • Incorrect funding or acknowledgment information

Corrections will be linked to the original article to ensure transparency.

Retractions

An article may be retracted if its findings are considered unreliable due to:

  • Research misconduct
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Plagiarism
  • Duplicate publication
  • Serious ethical violations
  • Major errors that invalidate the conclusions

Retraction decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the editorial office and, where appropriate, the authors and reviewers.

Retracted articles will remain available online to preserve the scholarly record but will be clearly identified as retracted.

Expressions of Concern

If a serious concern has been raised but an investigation is still ongoing, the journal may publish an Expression of Concern to inform readers while the matter is being investigated.

Once the investigation is complete, the Expression of Concern may be followed by a correction, retraction, or removal if necessary.

Author Requests

Authors who identify an error in their published article should promptly notify the editorial office.

Requests should include:

  • Article title
  • DOI (if assigned)
  • Description of the issue
  • Supporting evidence, where applicable

The editorial office will review each request before making a decision.

Editorial Responsibility

The editorial office will investigate all reported concerns fairly, confidentially, and objectively.

Editorial decisions are made independently and are based on:

  • Publication Ethics Policy
  • Peer Review Policy
  • Available evidence
  • International best practices in scholarly publishing
