Article Processing Charges (APC)

Why Does the Journal Charge an Article Processing Charge (APC)?

The Journal of Mental Health and Substance Abuse is an Open Access, peer-reviewed journal published by Gnoscience Publishing House.

To ensure that published articles remain freely accessible to readers worldwide without subscription or access fees, the journal collects an Article Processing Charge (APC) for manuscripts accepted for publication.

The APC supports the editorial and publication process, including:

  • Initial editorial assessment and manuscript management.
  • Similarity (plagiarism) screening.
  • Coordination of the peer-review process.
  • Professional copyediting and language review (where applicable).
  • Article formatting and typesetting for online publication.
  • Website hosting and long-term online accessibility.
  • Editorial administration and publication management.

Payment of the APC does not influence the editorial decision. Manuscripts are accepted solely on the basis of scientific quality, originality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal.
