Change in Authorship

The journal recognises that authorship disputes and legitimate corrections can arise at any stage of the publication process. This policy sets out the procedures governing all requests to add, remove, or reorder authors. Such requests are taken seriously and managed in a manner consistent with internationally recognised publication ethics best practices. Authors are strongly advised to confirm the complete and final author list before submission.

Before Submission
All authorship matters should be resolved among the author group prior to manuscript submission. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that the submitted author list is accurate, complete, and agreed upon by all listed individuals. The editorial office will not mediate pre-submission authorship disputes.

After Submission, Before Acceptance
Requests to change authorship after submission but before a final editorial decision must be submitted in writing to the editorial office and must include:
● A completed Authorship Change Form
● A clear explanation of the reason for the requested change
● Written confirmation from all current authors (including any author to be removed) that they agree to the change
● Written confirmation from any newly added author that they meet the journal's authorship criteria and agree to the terms of submission

All requests will be reviewed by the Editor. The journal reserves the right to seek additional clarification from any member of the author group.

After Acceptance, Before Publication
Authorship changes following acceptance are considered exceptional and will only be approved where a compelling justification is provided. The same documentation requirements apply. The Editor-in-Chief must approve any change at this stage. Repeated or unsubstantiated requests may result in the manuscript being withdrawn from the publication queue.

After Publication
Post-publication authorship changes are governed by the journal's Corrections & Retractions policy. Such changes are made only in cases of demonstrable error or misconduct and require thorough editorial investigation. Approved corrections are documented as formal correction notices linked to the published article.

Required Author Consent
Any change to the author list requires the written consent of all authors, including those being added or removed. Consent must be submitted via the Authorship Change Form, available from the editorial office. An author who declines to provide consent may submit a written statement explaining their position, which the editorial team will take into account.

Authorship Change Form
The Authorship Change Form is available upon request from the editorial office. Completed forms must be submitted to casereports@gnoscience.com with the manuscript ID in the subject line, signed by the corresponding author and countersigned by all other authors.

Exceptional Circumstances
Where an authorship dispute cannot be resolved through the standard process — for example, in cases of suspected misconduct or irreconcilable disagreement — the editorial team will refer to internationally recognised publication ethics guidance on authorship disputes and may engage the authors' institutional authorities. The journal will not publish work where a legitimate authorship dispute remains unresolved.
