The Journal of Biology and Medicine: Open Access recognizes that artificial intelligence (AI) technologies can assist researchers in manuscript preparation, language editing, literature organization, and data analysis. However, authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, integrity, and scientific validity of all submitted work, regardless of whether AI tools have been used.
AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors, as they cannot assume responsibility for the content, approve the final manuscript, or fulfill the responsibilities required of authorship. Where AI-assisted tools have made a significant contribution to the preparation of a manuscript, authors are encouraged to disclose their use in an appropriate section of the manuscript.
Authors should carefully verify all AI-generated content, references, interpretations, figures, and data before submission. The journal does not accept manuscripts containing fabricated information, fictitious references, manipulated images, or inaccurate content generated through AI tools.
Editors and reviewers may use AI-assisted technologies for administrative or language-support purposes where appropriate; however, all editorial evaluations, peer-review decisions, and publication decisions are made solely by qualified human editors. The journal remains committed to maintaining transparency, scientific integrity, and responsible use of AI throughout the publication process.
